5-star luxury glamping overlooking the Hambleton Hills
A 5-Star Working Farm Retreat
Morndyke Shepherds Huts offers a 5-star luxury glamping experience on a working farm in the Vale of York. The site looks over miles of farmland to the Hambleton Hills. The farm is close to the market town of Thirsk and has been the family home for over 100 years.
Hand-Crafted Huts and Interiors
The bespoke huts are hand-crafted and named after the farm's rescued sheep. Each hut has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, a mini kitchen with a microwave and hot plate, and a wood-burning stove. Outside is a private patio with a fire pit and barbecue.
On-Site Amenities and Services
The site has a wild flower garden planted with native British wild plants to attract bees and butterflies. A bird feeding station and bat boxes are located around the farm. A mini shop sells Yorkshire goodies, and free laundry facilities are available for guests.
Fishing, Birdwatching, and Local Activities
The two-acre Morndyke Fishery has 27 fishing platforms and holds mirror carp, common carp, tench, roach, and barbel. Birdwatchers can see yellow wagtails, oystercatchers, and reed buntings in the open spaces bordering the farm. National Cycling Routes and walks to the River Swale are within easy reach.
Policies, Pets, and Practical Details
Dogs are welcome on the securely fenced site. The site is a child-free and smoking-free environment. The minimum stay is 2 nights, and free parking is available.

“Morndyke Shepherds Huts present a truly peaceful countryside retreat, with each hut thoughtfully equipped for a cosy stay, down to the woodburner and quality linen. The farm's tranquil setting is complemented by a helpful welcome book and an honesty shop, alongside the quiet beauty of the views. It's clear that considerable care has gone into creating a comfortable and well-considered escape, particularly noteworthy given the funds supporting the on-site parrot sanctuary.”
